Greetings, Can Reflex XTR run on a Windows 7 computer? I now have Reflex installed on my old 'XP' computer but would prefer to have it on my Win 7 laptop (in compatibility mode). I had some expert help in doing an installation this evening, but after several attempts we found we could only run the Reflex 'edit' files. The flight simulator itself simply would not run. The software itself is the 2005 version, never used until installed recently on my XP machine. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Andrew. Yes Andrew, the simulator program runs natively on W7 but the installer of your old version isn't made for it because W7 didn't exist back then.

That's why they offer version 5.03 for download. It's still a legacy version but the installer is new and works fine on W7 and even W8. By the way, if you're looking for airplane models (not helicopters) you might have a look at my download page (the home icon on the left hand side of this post). Thank you Burkhard, It's just as well there are people like you, willing to give novices like me this vital help when needed. I thank you very much. I checked 'downloads' but they are off-line at the moment. I will download as soon as available and send a donation as well. Yes, it is fixed-wing rather than helicopters that is my interest. I used to fly full-size light aircraft (many years ago), and thought that taking up radio control would be easy. It is not, and I am desparately in need of simulator time, and looking forward to getting Reflex up and running.

I will check out your download page - thanks for the suggestion. Best regards, Andrew. Cooling Tech Microscope Software on this page. Hi Andrew, instead of sending a donation to simWerk you could as well buy the upgrade. It would be not cheap (99 Euro) and require to send in the old dongle, though. Anyway, I couldn't find they are off-line, here is the direct link for the download: The direct link to my download page is. (Click 'Downloads' in the menu on the left side if the page doesn't show up.) You might especially check the section 'Learn model flying with Reflex', linked nearly half way down the section list.

The 'Simulator.pdf' document there is meant for rank beginners but you may find it partially useful as well. It will point you to several of my Reflex models that are suitable for beginners. Even though I flew models as a teenager that didn't help when I started again after a 30 years hiatus. Like you, I flew light aircraft (even quite extensively) and still needed the simulator to build up 'muscle memory' and the reflexes to control the model from outside in all flight directions. But I can tell you that being a full-size pilot helped tremendously because I already knew how to fly in general. So building the reflexes and practicing landings (which are a much faster/shorter process with models) actually was a quick process. There were some lapses in concentration in the first time so I sticked to the simulator until model flying became second nature.
